If you live or own a property at Cumbre del Sol, subscribing to our blog can be a great way to actively participate in the community and contribute to its development.

What lies ahead

To be able to reflect the concerns and thoughts of the people on Cumbre we need to grow the numbers on the Blog. It's good that we have 500 and so we now build on that.

Our primary objective was and is to raise awareness among all residents about the situation on Cumbre with respect to the policies of the government of the municipality and the commercial activities of the major constructor VAPF. More recently we have become acutely aware of the lack of investment in Cumbre del Sol by the Town Hall. The imbalance between the income generated from Cumbre and in investment made by Town Hall is significant. 

We have also become aware of other imbalances. In 2023, there were only 2.524 foreign residents registered on the padron. According to the INE, Benitatxell has 4.851 inhabitants and a 2.524 foreign population. Of these 948 EU citizens and 1.270 British residents who, despite being entitled to register on the electoral roll,  only 492 were registered.

In Spain registration on the padron gives you legitimacy. Registration on the electoral roll gives the possibility of democratic participation. Voting determines the government of our Town Hall. 

By taking part, by acting together we can face the challenges ahead. Let's show solidarity with our neighbours so we make Cumbre del Sol a better place to live. Let's register on the electoral roll and make our voices heard.
