How to exercise the right to vote in Spain

HEADS UP!: To register on the electoral roll, you must be registered on the municipal register (Padrón).

Declaration of willingness to exercise the right to vote in Spain
in municipal and European Parliament elections:

Citizens of the European Union and from these Non-EU countries: Bolivia, Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Korea, Ecuador, Iceland, Norway, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, the United Kingdom and Trinidad and Tobago residents in Spain can express their wish to vote in municipal elections in Spain at their local Town Hall,  when registering in the municipal register (padron) or at a later date:

  •  in person at the Town Hall by filling in this form
  •  telematically at the National Statistics Institute (INE), if you have a @Clave or digital certificate

Deadline: in order to be able to exercise the right to vote in municipal and European Parliament elections in Spain, you must have expressed your wish to do so in advance, at the latest by the penultimate working day of the third month prior to the date on which each election is called.
