Official communiqué of the Town Hall about the planned changes in the waste collection system that will take place from April 24th onwards on Cumbre del Sol.
This communiqué was sent on 11th April by the mayor's department to the administrators of the communities with the request to be forwarded to all owners and tenants. Furthermore notices will be posted on notice boards and on the bins themselves.
"Dear neighbours of Cumbre del Sol,
As the Council has already announced in several communications, we would like to inform you that next Thursday April 24th we will relocate and unify the recycling containers located on Cumbre del Sol urbanisation into large recycling points.
The goal of this change of model is to encourage separation and recycling, to comply with the objectives of European waste regulations and to facilitate selective collection. To this end, all those points that have containers for a single fraction (residual waste) will be eliminated in order to move towards a model with recycling points where there are containers for all fractions: light packaging (yellow container), paper and cardboard (blue container), glass (green container) and residual waste (grey container). In later phases, the organic fraction will be incorporated, once the appropriate control mechanisms are in force.
With these premises and with the resources available of the Council, we have worked on a model that achieves these objectives and that, at the same time, tries to be as comfortable as possible for users, cutting distances from one point to another as much as possible.
These recycling points have been agreed with the representatives of associations in the neighbourhood. Attached in the email we send you the maps with the locations of the different points and their locations.
During the first phase of implementation, these recycling points will be open for public use. Later, in subsequent phases, all changes will be communicated in due time and form." © Mayor's department

Let's make it happen!
