Historical background

In 2017 the Benitatxell Town Council in collaboration with Toni Bolufer, head of Meteoxabia, and a technician from AVAMET installed on Puig Llorença a weather station wich remained operational until 2019, when it sustained some damage following a storm, which affected several sensors. The weather station measured and recorded various meteorological variables such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall and dew every five minutes. It also presented this data on a monthly and annual basis.

New weather station installed

According to information published by Meteoxabia, a new weather station and a webcam have been installed on Puig de la Llorença (Cumbre del Sol) on 21 May 2026.
