Minutes of the meeting held on 12th February 2026 between OVFC and VAPF

Attendees:

  • Rossana Ferreyra, Customer Community Manager at VAPF
  • Margaret Hales, OVFC President
  • Paul Davies, OVFC Vice President
  • Marianne Pätzold, OVFC Secretary
  • Pepe Blas, OVFC Treasurer
  • Gerald Hales, OVFC Board member

The OVFC board held a meeting on 12th February with Rossana Ferreyra, Customer Community Manager at VAPF, during which we exchanged views on the planned refurbishment of the Lirios shopping centre.

Our readers will recall that in October 2025, OVFC conducted a survey among all readers and subscribers to our blog, in which the reopening of the Lirios centre was the most voted proposal.

Rossana informed us of VAPF's firm commitment to renovate as soon as possible the old Lirios shopping centre and requested an informative meeting with OVFC, during which we conveyed our opinions and made the following service suggestions:

  • VAPF office
  • Cash machine
  • Amazon Locker
  • Bookcrossing (book exchange service)
  • Food delivery service
  • Charity shop
  • Fitness, yoga and Pilates centre
  • Cafeteria selling bread, croissants, ice creams, etc
  • Restaurant
  • Hairdresser
  • Laundry service
  • Event, exhibition, meeting room
  • Co-working space
  • Room for public services provided by the Council: OAC, Police
  • Children´s playground
  • Place for public benches
  • Dog park on the plot adjacent to the centre

VAPF is currently renovating the Lirios centre and the work is expected to be completed by April, with the aim of gradually opening up to 10 premises some of them before the summer season. To date, a restaurant, a catering service and a hairdressing salon have already expressed an interest.

OVFC has emphasised the advisability of a conservative rental policy for the premises on the part of VAPF to ensure their launch and continuity.

We would like to encourage our readers and subscribers to send their own proposals and suggestions as comments on this post below.

Anyone interested can also contact Rossana Ferreyra (Customer Community Manager at VAPF) directly on +34 605 702 363.

We are very grateful to Pedro Soliveres, VAPF CEO, for this initiative and his firm commitment to Cumbre del Sol. This project marks a turning point for the development, its residents and property owners.

Let´s create a meeting place ourselves and foster a spirit of community life in a diverse and multilingual international community.

    1. I agree! And Weil, one voice for Cumbre and VA in the collaboration have provided us with this new renovation project, it will be our responsibility to give it use income and propaganda. From now on, I will include visits to this center every time we are on the coast, first to see the progress and later when services are running, to use them and support them. A big Thanks to those involved so far!!!

  2. The VAPF initiative echoes the popular demand expressed in last year's OVFC survey, where it was the proposal that received the most votes from the large majority of respondents. Let's spread the news and encourage interested parties to contact VAPF as long as there are still premises available.
