SPENDING ON CUMBRE DEL SOL FROM 2022 TILL 2024
One minute reading summary
On 18 July 2025, OVFC requested from the mayor a list of all investments made in Cumbre del Sol from 2018 to date, together with a list of planned investments. We are currently waiting for a response from the Town Hall. Meanwhile we are publishing the information available to the public at the Court of Auditors and at the Audit Office of the Valencian Regional Government.
- Spending figures: According to data from contracts signed by the Town Council sent to the Court of Auditors, the annual expenditure in Cumbre del Sol was:
 - 2022: 1.327.158,67€ (32,71%)
 - 2023: 149.426,76€ ( 5,33%)
 - 2024: 193.877,33€ ( 2,43%)
 - Revenue figures (10): Most of the municipality's property tax and rubbish collection tax revenue comes from Cumbre del Sol due to the greater number of properties, their higher cadastral value, the greater number of tourist accommodation, as well as other items of income from the collection of parking fees at Cala Moraig, the greater number of planning licences and construction fees. These are just some estimates:
 - Property tax revenue (IBI): 1.830.000€
 - Rubbish collection tax revenue: 594.000€
 - Cala Moraig parking tax: 450.000€
 - Fiscal imbalance: The significant difference between income and expenditure at Cumbre del Sol has led to a historic fiscal imbalance wich is expected to increase substantially over the next 10 years given the increase in property tax revenue as a result of the latest cadastral review. In recent years, not even half of the revenue from the Cala Moraig car park has been invested in Cumbre del Sol, and the rest of the taxes collected go entirely to finance the rest of the municipality.
 - Lack of transparency: Whereas the City Council knows exactly the large increase of property tax revenue expected for the next 10 years, the destination of these extra revenue has not been released yet.

Dear neighbours, in order for Cumbre del Sol to be heard, we must register on the municipal register and on the electoral roll. None of the political parties represented on the Council has ever shown any interest in Cumbre del Sol. Let's make ourselves heard!
ReplyDeleteThese figures should make us think a lot.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the number of foreign residents registered on the electoral roll remains at around 20%, it is easy to understand that the Town Council will not pay any electoral price for its lack of investment in Cumbre del Sol.
