Consorci MARE goes digital with its new app
Consorci MARE goes digital with its new app to promote selective waste separation and encourage recycling building Works
The MARE Consortium, the entity responsible for waste treatment in 52 municipalities in Marina Alta, Marina Baixa and El Campello, today presented its new app, a completely free tool for citizens that seeks to promote the use of eco-parks and ecological islands among citizens and encourage recycling in the 52 municipalities that make up this entity.
It has multiple functionalities. In addition to geolocating the different infrastructures that the Consortium has, this app offers users information on the different types of household waste and the most suitable facilities for depositing them. In this way, with a single click, residents can find out where to dispose of their old transistor or where the nearest ecopark is.
The Consortium's new app will function as an environmental account, i.e. a platform where each inhabitant's visits to the MARE's network of ecoparks and the waste deposited in these facilities will be recorded. Once the Consortium's points policy has been defined and the bonus system has been approved, this information will be used to reward those residents who recycle more.
In addition, the data collected through the app will be of great use to local councils. Thanks to them, municipal technicians will be able to know exactly how their inhabitants use each of the facilities, the number of people who use them or the waste they deposit in them. Key information to improve the services of Consorci MARE and move towards a more circular economy.
Using this tool is very simple. All you need to do is download the app on your mobile or tablet, register as a user and, from then on, start using this platform every time you deposit waste in the mobile or fixed ecoparks of Consorci MARE or on the recycling islands.
At the moment, it is only available on Google Play. However, it will soon also be available on Apple Store. An environmental education team will visit each of the 52 municipalities and will inform the users of Consorci MARE about this app and its use.
