Hi everyone,

I am overjoyed to share this fantastic news with you all. Did you know that we have a national and world champion right here in Benitachell? That's right! Our very own taichi instructor, Mikelo Signes, has just received his repeated national championship this past Saturday at a tournament in Madrid.

Taichi, as a martial art, falls under the umbrella of the Royal Judo and Associated Sports Federation. Mikelo has been a dedicated teacher at Studio Balasana Benitachell for years, and his expertise and passion have truly shone through.

Let's come together to celebrate and honor Mikelo's incredible achievement and show our appreciation for his hard work and dedication. Let's show our support and appreciation by attending the celebration event.

Tuesday, June 24th at 18:30 hrs in Studio Balasana. Bring a small token of appreciation, such as chocolates, flowers, or a candle.

Meet up with Mikelo and learn more about the many health benefits of practicing this most interesting therapeutic side of a worldwide recognized martial art.

Congratulations, Mikelo!

26/06/2025 update

Hello everyone,

I am overjoyed to share some fantastic news about our beloved Taichi Chen and Quantum teacher, Mikelo Signes! The Marin Alta region is proud to house such an exceptional talent, a true champion on regional, national, and even world stages. Recently, Mikelo achieved incredible success by winning two gold medals at the national championship tournament in Madrid on  June 21/22.

To honor this remarkable achievement, the Fitness Studio Balasana hosted a special event where the sports counselor of Benitachell, Javi Cabrera, personally congratulated Mikelo for his outstanding results. It was a heartwarming celebration, and it was wonderful to see how much Mikelo's accomplishments are appreciated by our community.

As many of you know, Taichi is a martial art, but Mikelo brings its therapeutic side to life, teaching dozens of enthusiastic students, mostly seniors, in our area. His classes are not just about fitness; they are about fun and relaxation, making a significant impact on the well-being of his students. Mikelo, who has been teaching Taichi for over 25 years, believes in respect for body and mind with beautiful music supporting the atmosphere.

The event was graced by the presence of student representatives from Teulada and Moraira, hosted by the manager of Balasana, Carmen Martínez. It was a proud moment for Benitachell to celebrate Mikelo's success and the positive influence he has on our community.

Let's all join in congratulating Mikelo Signes on his incredible achievements and for being such an inspiring and dedicated teacher. Feel free to share your own stories or congratulations for Mikelo. Join us in our next class to experience Mikelo's fantastic teaching firsthand. Stay tuned for more events and opportunities to celebrate our community's successes. We are truly fortunate to have such an inspiring teacher.

Warm regards,

Trudi van Dorp
