Mitjafava Fest will be back to promote the ‘fava poblera’.

- The cultural and gastronomic festival will feature showcookings by Ferdinando Bernardi and Ausiàs Signes, wine tasting by BonAmb sommelier Pablo Català, a performance by Muixeranga of La Marina Alta and delicious tapas with broad beans from local restaurants.
- The agricultural association BioMoscatell presents a novelty: a visit to the experimental field of cultivation of the broad bean, a project of theoretical and practical training to recover this legume.
- The week will start with the Gastronomic Broad Bean Days, scheduled from April 1st to 5th.
Each day of the week, a restaurant in the town will offer a succulent dish of rice with broad beans for lunch:
- April 1st at Pizzeria Antiquary
- April 2nd at Restaurant La Cumbre
- April 4th at Ca Toni Mònica
- April 5th at La Trillaora
Next Thursday 3rd, at 7pm, the Library will host a wine tasting with wine pairings by Pablo Catalá, sommelier of BonAmb restaurant, organised by the association of farmers Biomoscatell of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Capacity is limited to 25 people. Click here to register .
The main event will take place at the weekend, with a great festival of gastronomy and music. Next Friday 4th, from 8pm onwards, there will be a showcooking by two well-known chefs: Ferdinando Bernardi, from Casa Bernardi in Benissa (one Michelin star and one Repsol sun), and Ausiàs Signes, from Ausiàs restaurant of Pedreguer (recommended by the Michelin and Repsol guides and T de Oro de ‘Tapas’ of the Valencian Community).
There will be music, tapas and much more on Saturday 5th. Throughout the day, from 11am to 2pm and from 4pm to 10pm, there will be a craft market and children’s attractions at Les Pesqueres square.
Mitjafava Fest will say goodbye on Sunday April 6th with a great day with a wide variety of activities. Bars and restaurants of the town will offer various dishes made with broad beans at popular prices. At 1:30 pm the prizes will be given to the winners of the wine contest, the longest broad bean and the broad bean with the most ‘gallons’ (seeds), by BioMoscatell farmers’ association.
