Benitatxell honours the working women of the past

From March 2nd to 9th, the Council, in collaboration with the Women’s Association, the European Union of Women Marina Alta, Clásicas y Modernas, Club Multiesport and the Base Football School, has programmed a number of activities.

This year, International Women’s Day at El Poble Nou will focus on ‘paying a sincere tribute to all working women, with special recognition to the pioneers of the municipality, who with their effort and courage paved the way for today’s generations’, explained the councillor of Equality, Isa Garrido. This marks the start of the project ‘Memoria Viva’ or Living memory. Honouring the working women of the past and present’, which is expected to be continued in order to continue retrieving the testimonies of the women of El Poble Nou.
