MEDICAL FACILITIES NEARBY

Summer brings many visitors, as well as hot weather to our municipality. It is useful to know what the medical facilities are in the area. The local health area includes Teulada, Moraira and Benitachell. 

• The Health Centre in Benitachell, (Plaça de les Pesqueres, 23) is open from 8.00 to 15.00 and has doctors and nurses (for dressings etc). Appointments can be made +34 965739075. The receptionists speak a little English and some German, depending who is on duty. 

• The health Centre in Moraira (Ctra. Moraira a Calpe, 18A by the big carpark) has extended its hours and the afternoons are for emergencies (cuts, falls, infections etc). 8.00 to 19.00. +34 965739080

• The Health Centre in Teulada (Calle Doctor José Pitarch, S/N) tel:+34 965739085 is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by local doctors and nurses. The morning facility is upstairs and the afternoon and nighttime is accessed downstairs. Both entrances are in Calle Dr Pitarch. The 24 hour facility is available at weekends too. Just arrive and ring the bell on the side of the door! Remember identification and any health cards or insurance you have. There are many private clinics in the area. 

• The Hospital Denia (Partida Beniadla, s/n) is off the CV 725 Ondara to Denia road, Website. A warning; the hospital in Denia is overstretched (and parking can be very difficult) and it is advisable to consider using local facilities first (unless it is serious of course).

• To call an ambulance ring 112 and ask for an ambulance. If you do not speak Spanish they will try to find an operator who speaks your language. Remember to check your location before you call. The 112 Call Centre is not in the local area and they will need an accurate address.
