Comments from OVFC on Spending on Cumbre del Sol in 2025

According to statements made by the mayor during the plenary session to approve the 2026 budget, "the Council has sufficient funds for today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, regardless of who is in power". However, in Cumbre del Sol, according to data obtained from the Court of Auditors, expenditure in Cumbre del Sol over the last three years has been less than 10% of total expenditure, and basic investments are not being met. We are missing a firm commitment to:

• Fulfil its obligations to maintain and repair roads

• Release of the plan for cyclical weed clearing routes 

• Install speed cameras on the busiest streets

• Renew street signage

Cumbre del Sol is not just Cala Moraig alone, where municipal spending is concentrated exclusively in our urbanization.

When we reported to the relevant authorities that water pipes urgently need replacing in some areas like in Magnolias to resolve the issues with water pressure and leaks, we were told that “Funding for new investments in water infrastructure has been put on hold by the Teulada-Benitatxell Water Consortium. The Town Council is actively working to secure alternative funding through the Provincial Council...as soon as the necessary resources are available, the replacement work will begin”.

On 30 June 2025, the mayor made a commitment to the presidents of the Pueblo Panorama phases 1, 2, 3 and 4 to include in the 2026 budget speed cameras on the carretera superior road, and to date we have received no news whatsoever regarding the work.

On 25 January 2026, we sent to the mayor a Google Maps link in which we had marked 67 sections of road in poor condition and potholes and we haven't received a reply yet.

We cannot remain silent in the face of the marginalisation of Cumbre del Sol.
