Moraig free shuttle bus service

In addition to the new point next to the Pepe la Sal supermarket, a new circular urban route will be established mid-morning to provide extra service to bathers and residents of the urbanisation.

From Saturday June 28th until Sunday August 31st, the free shuttle bus provided by the Council of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell will be back for another year to take bathers to the Moraig cove.

This year, the service has been extended with a new stop and a new circular route. Thus, in addition to the four collection points of previous years, a stop in front of Pepe la Sal supermarket has been added before reaching the cove. This improvement has been implemented after listening to the demands of the local residents, who asked for this stop to be able to get to the beach without having to take the car.

Another novelty is the circular route that the bus will take mid-morning, at 12 o’clock, departing from the Moraig cove, stopping at the Lady Elizabeth School and Pepe la Sal, and returning to the Moraig. The goal of this additional itinerary is to extend the service, both for the residents of the area and for the bathers.

As far as the timetable is concerned, the bus will leave every morning at 10am from the town centre and will stop at the car parking lot in front of Mas y mas, the Lady Elizabeth School car parking lot, Pepe la Sal supermarket and, finally, the cove. The same route, but in reverse, will take place at lunchtime, at 2:00 pm. In the afternoon, it will leave the town centre at 4:00 pm and return at 6:30 pm.

Furthermore, it will take bathers up and down from the cove car parking lot to the beachfront approximately every 20 minutes, except when travelling to the town centre or along the Cumbre del Sol route. This is a comfortable alternative to the steep slope that is particularly difficult to climb on very hot days, with a hammock and cooler on your back.

This service is intended to decongest the coastal area of vehicles and provide a free alternative to paid parking that is more sustainable with the environment. At the same time, the service seeks to promote visits to the town centre.
