Festivities of La Rosa 2025 from May 1st to 11th
They will start on the May 1st and 2nd with masses and triduums to the “Virgen de la Rosa”. But the big celebration will be on Saturday the 3rd.In the morning there will be a music therapy and musical stimulation workshop for children between 0 and 6 years old at the Library ( inscriptions at biblioteca@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.com), and in the afternoon there will be an Offering.
At 6:30 p.m., the festive women will be collected and will then go to the Oratory to begin the colourful floral offering to the Virgen de la Rosa. Children and adults will make their way to the Church to offer her with their bouquets and floral arrangements accompanied by the Band and the Colla La Llebetjà. During the offering, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí will also perform their traditional dances. In the evening, the Tokyo Band orchestra will perform on València Avenue.
With the goal of achieving an orderly and organised offering, the Councillorship of Festivities has asked for the collaboration of neighbours and associations, establishing the following order of departure: Grup de Danses Morro Falquí, Colla La Llebetjà, communion children, children organised in pairs or trios, children in carts, neighbours who want to make an offering, associations and clubs, festive men and women and, to close with their music, the Agrupació Musicomunicipal Santa María Magdalena.
The day of La Rosa and its tradition of ‘pans beneïts’, one of the most unique in the municipality, is eagerly awaited. Arrangements are being made to bring the 120 loaves of bread to the Oratory, which will be decorated with roses and carried in baskets to the church on Sunday May 4th, where they will be blessed. Afterwards, accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà, a procession made up of festeros and festeras, local boys and girls will go through the streets with the baskets of blessed loaves of bread to distribute the pieces of bread to the houses of the village to the neighbours, who will be waiting in the doorways with an empty plate.
That same day in the evening, at 8 p.m., there will be a solemn procession in honour of the Virgen de la Rosa, San Pancracio Mártir and San Luis. At the end of the procession there will be a fireworks display in the Portalet, and in the evening there will be music in casal festero.
Next Monday 5th there will be religious acts and children’s activities in the morning. After the mass in honour of San Pancracio Mártir, the mayor or mayoress of San Pancracio will be appointed on the balcony of the Town Hall, from where he or she will dictate the rules of the costume that all the neighbours will have to comply with next Saturday 10th on the festive costume day. At 2pm there will be a giant paella for all those attending and at 4pm Toni Catalá will perform on La Pau street.
From May 5th to 11th there will be a free bullfight every afternoon (except Saturday) at Les Pesqueres Square, and dinner at popular prices by the Peña Taurina and disco-mobile at the bullring on Friday 9th. The festivities will continue on Saturday May 10th with one of the most fun days of the year: San Pancracio and his popular costumes. The day will start with despertà, informal parade and cucañas for children. At lunch time the paella contest will be held, with prizes of 100, 75 and 50 euros. The fancy dress parade will start at 17:00h from the casal festero. There will be prizes of 100, 75 and 50 euros for the best creations. From 6 pm there will be a Kampal disco in La Pau street, and at 7:30 pm, the festeros and festerteras will hand out sandwiches for all those who comply with the rules dictated by the mayor or mayoress of San Pancracio.
A free bullfight??!! In my opinion it is a total shame to show children and adults that it is all right to torture animals.
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely no excuse.
This blog should NOT publish anything that involves the pestering and abuse of livestock or other animals.
Follow the good example of the digital Javea Newsletter who declare since a few years that yes, they publish the festivities in Javea, but they leave out any parts that involve cruelties against animals.
Wake up Benitachell.
Wake up Cumbre people.
Give animals a Voice!
How can a fiesta be a fiesta when animals are tortured??
ReplyDeleteWe should not confuse the right to information and to be informed with the content of the information published. OVFC has published information from the Town Hall and quoted it without adding any comments suggesting approval or rejection. It is up to each reader to give his or her opinion and to participate or not in the planned events.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your explanation. I still wish to raise attention to the unnecessary events including the abuse of animals during 'festivities ' in our municipality.
DeleteIn this day and age there is no excuse for cruelty against animals.
They can not defend themselves in this context.
Wake up Cumbre people!
Hear, hear! i agree, info on torturing animals should not be published, and being just the messenger is no excuse.
